Portrait Painter Extraordinaire

Portrait Painter Extraordinaire

John Singer Sargent may be Americas most loved artist. Albeit most dont know his name. His work is in the Pantheon of the impressionist Gods like Berthe Morisot, Mary Cassat, Monet, Manet etc. Known for is esquisite abilty to paint loose and tight at the same time, making him a master of both the realist and impressionist style.  A voracious work ethic, Sargent produced over 3,000 watercolors, paintings, and drawing in his lifetime.  Most of his life he worked in Europe, travelling and painting portraits to make a living.
