Fiesole Altarpiece is an Italian Renaissance Tempera Painting created by Fra Angelico from 1424 to 1425. The image is in the Public Domain, and tagged The Virgin Mary, Saints, Altarpieces and Framed Artwork. SourceDownload

This altarpiece for the Convent of San Domenico in Fiesole Italy was one of Fra Angelico’s earliest works. The perspective is less refined than in Angelico’s later work, and features a Maestà, a ‘Madonna enthroned’ at the center, with the young Christ ringed-round by angels and flanked by the saints Thomas of Aquino, Barnabas, Dominic and Peter of Verona.
