Born in Tofino, Vancouver Island, BC and relocated to NYC in the late 70s, Richard Art Hambleton is the Godfather of Public Art who used the urban canvas to evoke public reaction. He is reputed as an elusive genius after the early deaths of his colleagues Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring.
